4 WAYS TO STOP FLAKY DRY SKIN FROM FORMING WITHIN YOUR BEARD

The hotter months have now arrived, which usually means a little extra TLC might be in order to help keep things looking extra fresh and in control in the furry face department.

But what happens when facial hair begins to itch and flaky dry areas begin to form? Thankfully there are a few tricks you can follow to help lower if not completely eliminate that dreaded itching and protect your precious face whiskers in the process. So, without further ado let us begin 4 Ways To Stop Flaky Dry Skin From Forming Within Your Beard...

KEEP EVERYTHING CLEAN AND TIDY!

It is important to keep you face fuzz clean 99% of the time, I appreciate this might be a little easier said than done if you work in a messy job, or choose to participate in other outdoor social activities. But washing through your beard each morning during taking a shower will help keep things fresh and tidy for any day ahead.

I wouldn't recommend the need to use beard washes and conditioners each time you wash, as this can actually have a reverse effect against protecting your whiskers, and may actually strip away any natural moisture you may have, leaving your face to feel dry, itchy and uncomfortable. So, instead simply wash through your beard with luke warm to cold water, taking with it any dirt and grime in the process.

APPLY YOURSELF SOME TRUSTED BEARD OIL AND BALM!

Of course I am 100% going to recommend yours truly, our tried, tested and rightfully trusted 'The Beard Struggle' exclusive Viking beard care range. But there is much to gain from using a trusted premium quality oil and/or balm.

This grants the beholder extra control to a wild beard, as well as added protection that is needed to face the day to day elements, such as sun UV rays, high humidity levels and even beats the frosty winter blues too.

Dry troublesome areas will soon become a thing of that past when using these products too, so choose wisely when you select which product to trust. And please don't cut corners, trust us, we are in your corner.

DON'T OVER APPLY, AS THIS WON'T HELP YOU OUT ANY!

A rather easy habit to fall into is to over apply a product, be it a balm, oil, wax and everything else in between. Whilst it may seem like a good move to slap on a little extra balm on that fuzzy face of yours, but all this usually does is smother your facial hair with an overcoat of oil that rubs off on pretty much anything it touches, from cell/mobile phone screens when taking a call, to items of clothing, it's pretty nasty.

a few drops of 'TBS' beard oil will be plenty for even the biggest of beards. Mines a good size (my beard that is, keep it PG!) and two, maybe three drops is an ample amount for me. Find what works best for you and run with it, Bro.

USE HAIR STRAIGHTENERS AND DRYERS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

In many of my blogs you will often read me debating on wether or not using hair straighteners and dryers in your beard is a wise move or not. And the answer from me remains the same, NOPE.

Now, I know many of you do choose to use such devices, and that's grand, whatever works good for you can't be a bad thing. But I have a rather wild red beard that is a nightmare to tame out. I find using a hair dryer only adds to the problems, as blasting high waves of heat directly through your rugged face fur can be problematic and heighten your dry troubled spots, causing your face to dry out and become a little more flaky over time.

Instead I opt in to use a towel to pat dry my beard, leaving it ever so slightly damp ready to use with some 'TBS' product. This has always worked great for me, so I will continue to recommend this tried and tested path to others.

So, that wraps things up for today's daily beard blog. We sure hope you took something useful from today's guide, and urge you to kindly leave us a penny for your thoughts in the form of a little feedback in the comments section provided directly below.

And until next time, Beard on brothers, Beard on...
